Having a healthy body and mind makes all aspects of life more enjoyable. Deciding to change your daily routine doesn’t need to be overwhelming. Small things add up more than most realize. About Stephanie DooleyI am a mother of two beautiful children 11 and 9 years old. I’ve always been into running and fitness. I would run multiple 5K’s and obstacle runs until the summer of 2014 when I injured my knee. The diagnosis was a very painful torn meniscus and I was told I would need surgery to continue running as much as I did. So I quit running altogether and gained a lot of weight. It made me extremely unhappy with how I looked and felt. In February of 2015 I made the decision that I had to do something! I tried many “diets” that were either too strict, too complicated, starved you to death, or flat out didn’t work. One day I noticed a friend posting on Facebook and how happy she was. She had lost weight and had a ton of energy I wanted that. So I began to do some research on eating healthy and the best exercises for me. I wanted a life style change not a diet to see results and maintain my weight learning how to eat healthy and make better choices. After just the first month I was down 15 pounds and over 20 inches. It was nice to get to the size I haven’t been since high school. It was great! I had more energy and felt like I was 20 again. Plus, taking care of my body my knee pain was gone and I no longer needed surgery. The doc told me “keep doing what you are doing!” I can now run faster and further than before! It is amazing what being truly healthy can do for you. My children now make better choices as well and have jumped on the fitness wagon. We have a small gym at our house and they love to come workout with me and make up their own exercises. I will post videos. Honestly I love the way I feel right now. I have met a lot of amazing people along my journey so far and this is just the beginning!
