In today’s culture it is more important than ever to remember that a few lifestyle changes can transform your overall health. Here are 5 simple ways you can achieve your overall health. Do something active everyday, whether you go for a walk, a hike, ride a bike, or just work out in your yard. Just thirty minutes of moderate to intense daily physical activity lowers your risk for heart disease, Alzheimer’s, depression, and many types of cancer. Do Stay Engaged in life, Involvement in activities you find meaningful and groups you care about increases both quality and quantity of life. Social interaction is good for both mental and physical health. Don’t Overeat, Keeping calorie intake in balance with calories burned is critical, especially if your goal is to lose weight. Watching your portals can also help with not over eating. Try using a smaller plate to help with portion control, eat slow and chew your food well instead of inhaling your food instantly. Don’t drink too much, Excessive alcohol use will not help you lose those extra pounds that are lingering around. Drinking too much also impairs sleep and daily function. If you must drink just limit yourself so you are not just binge drinking. Don’t Smoke, there is nothing more damaging to your health, wellness, and fitness than smoking. I’m glad I never smoked it can be hard to kick the habit. Hopefully this was helpful to you, check out my other posts for health and fitness!
