The end of the month is coming and what does that mean?  A new year full of resolutions especially weight loss and fitness goals.  Everyone wants to lose weight and become healthier, but sometimes life just gets in the way.  Many times we get busy or just lose motivation for one reason or another.  We have all been there.  It doesn’t have to come to that this year.

Instead of starting off strong and then letting your goals fade away see your goals through to the end. Don’t get sidetracked or discouraged.  Get a workout partner or an accountability partner to hold you accountable for your fitness goals or even do the workouts and food plan together.  Track your progress, record weight and measurements, and log your food. Personally I use My Fitness Pal to track my food intake and with the Yoli Better Body app you can record your measurements and pictures.

Whenever you feel the urge to eat unhealthy eat in front of the mirror.  Trust me it works and you will put that fork down.  If you feel hungry drink more water to see if that helps, but if you need food by all means EAT.  Be realistic with your goals.  Aim high but make sure it is achievable otherwise you will just want to throw in the towel and give up.  Keeping your goals attainable will help you keep going and stay motivated.  Make it fun by doing challenges with friends.  I love using my fitbit for this.   I challenge my sisters and friends on steps and it keeps me moving.  I’m not very competitive but I like to win once in a while!

Make sure you reward yourself for each goal you achieve whether it’s a favorite food or dessert.  Just don’t eat the whole pie or cake. Remember it is ok to reward yourself once you achieve your goals.  In fact you should be rewarded.  Remember change takes time and it doesn’t happen overnight.  Rome wasn’t built in a day and your body won’t be either.  Happy New Year everyone!
